Nursing is a highly rewarding and heavy demand field.  Most nurses are either LPN (licensed practical nurse) or RN (registered nurse).  LPN programs take 2 years and RN programs take 4.  Many nurses get their LPN and work while earning the RN degree.  Nurses enjoy flexibility in where they work and when they work.  Hospitals offer around the clock shifts, as well as homecare nuring.  For more regular hours doctor's offices everyone are always hiring nurses.  Nursing pays well ($30,000 - $50,000) and often offers excellent benefits.
